Glossa
Glossa is an ongoing documentary and archival photography project by Antonio Ottomanelli, focusing on the places of Grecìa Salentina.
It was exhibited as part of the group show Voci Nascoste. Le lingue che resistono. The exhibition was curated by Giangavino Pazzola on the occasion of the EXPOSED Torino Foto Festival and displayed in Sala 6 at CAMERA – Centro Italiano per la Fotografia.
Voci Nascoste. Le lingue che resistono was produced by CAMERA and Chora Media, in cultural partnership with Lavazza. It features the unpublished works of Arianna Arcara (Monza, 1984), Antonio Ottomanelli (Bari, 1982), and Roselena Ramistella (Gela, 1982) on the theme of linguistic minorities in the inland areas of the Italian peninsula. An integral part of the exhibition project is a podcast written by Valerio Millefoglie and narrated by Mario Calabresi for Chora Media, describing the journey of the three artists as they trace languages that resist the dynamics of population aging, urban migration of younger generations, the mass touristification of places, or – conversely – their depopulation.

Re-visiting Taranto
The pandemic revealed the urgent need to step into a new paradigm—one built on fresh alliances that transcend the dichotomy between production and health.
“Stop production to safeguard health!” With the Covid-19 pandemic, the political perspective that had fueled the struggle of movements in Taranto over the past decade suddenly became a global demand.
Workers and citizens across the world mobilized—and continue to mobilize—calling for measures that protect the health of workers, society, and the environment alike.
